Cavalariça Restaurant Group

A Harvest Cotton Tale–owned collection of restaurants.

Bruno Contreras, Co-Founder and Culinary Director at Harvest Cotton Tale and partner at Cavalariça Group, is the visionary behind all menu development across the Michelin-recognized Cavalariça brand, shaping its signature culinary identity and elevated dining experiences.

A contemporary Portuguese dining collective rooted in place, seasonality, and cultural honesty. What began as a single restaurant in Comporta—housed in a former horse stable preserved in its original form and named Cavalariça, meaning stable, in homage to the region’s equestrian heritage—has evolved into a multi-venue group across Comporta, Lisbon, and Portugal’s North Coast, with two concepts receiving Michelin recognition.

The group is built on a philosophy of unforced luxury, where cuisine, service, and atmosphere emerge organically from local context rather than imposed narratives. Close relationships with farmers, fishermen, natural winemakers, artisans, and local craftspeople shape each concept, while architecture, materiality, and spatial rhythm reflect the cultural fabric of place. Global artists are introduced selectively—never to dominate, but to dialogue with local identity.

Cavalariça represents a deeply human approach to hospitality: intuitive, grounded, and quietly confident, offering experiences that feel lived-in rather than staged.
